THE
DAY has become
night again in the moment of a sneeze.
Caught in so much traffic, I can’t believe the amount of people who have
cars and need to be out and about all at the same time. Well my dear, my darling
dear of my deepest romantic cave, how do I swim with all of the snakes? How
do I fall into rank and babble about with all the dots who have an address,
and a bed, and a babble of their very own? How do I do this when I am stuck
in that crack—crack—heart attack? The phone rings and I simply cannot
say hello. —MO

“Some
rattlesnake venom primarily attacks the nervous system, while others affect
the heart and circulatory system. Experts no longer advise making an incision
across the bite and sucking out the venom unless help is a few hours away.”
